Yasmin refers to the top-seller among birth control pills all over the world. It gained such a huge popularity thanks to its numerous benefits and very few side effects. In fact, if Yasmin is taken correctly it is possible to avoid any unpleasant reactions.
Recently there were lots of disputes concerning the connection between Yasmin and acne – a common skin disease characterized by pimples on the face, chest, and back. Some physicians tend to think that acne might arise or worsen under the influence of Yasmin birth control pills. However, this is only a supposition as it is impossible to reject the fact that acne occurs even more frequently in women who are not taking Yasmin. So, what is the link between Yasmin and acne as its side effect? And does it really exist?
To clarify the issue there were held very interesting researches, which were directed to define if Yasmin can be really the source of acne. For this purpose women (with any slight signs of acne) who participated in the investigation were divided into two groups. One group was given a simple placebo, while another took real Yasmin pills. The studies showed that those women who took a placebo noticed a tendency for acne development, while another group reported no signs of the disease progress.
Though Yasmin pills have not been approved for the treatment of acne the supposition that it helps to a certain extent to get rid of this disease still remains in force. However, if you have any doubts concerning Yasmin and its influence on the acne development it is better to consult with a physician who will select the most appropriate medication for your concrete individual case.
